NATURE OF WORK
The Maple Grove Community Center is seeking applicants for a Guest Service who is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service for the Community Center patrons while developing positive working environment with the public and employees. Duties require general clerical skills including computer data entry, answering incoming phone calls, collecting admission fees, and directing visitors to appropriate locations of the building.
HOURS
Part-time hours, 5-15 hours/week, weekends and some evenings.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Receives payments for fees, rings up fees in the cash register and gives out change.
- Provide a balanced cash drawer after shift, including a daily deposit and start-up.
- Operate RecTrac at a proficient level to manage memberships, room rentals and activity registration.
- Receives and routes telephones calls on phone system with multiple lines, takes incoming messages and distributes promptly and in a courteous manner at all times.
- Greets and refers visitors to proper persons or areas.
- Ability to de-escalate conflict and deal with diverse clientele.
- Accepts mail-in registration for participants in recreational programs, activities, classes and lessons at front counter and follows established procedures to process registrations.
- Assists persons in completing forms or applications that require standard information.
- Provides general information and answers routine questions to explain general services, programs and procedures.
- Prepare daily documents and signs for building staff to use in setting up rental spaces.
- Operates photocopy machine, facsimile and other necessary office equipment.
- Assists in sending out various mailings and collection of materials and equipment processes deliveries.
- Make inquiries on computer terminal on a back-up basis.
- Operates computer and pass validations (I.D.) systems.
- Retrieve and return rental inquiries by phone, in-person, or online.
- Other duties as assigned by the Facility Coordinator, Receptionist, or Community Center Manager.
Qualifications
NEED TO HAVE:
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Lift 25lbs or more.
NICE TO HAVE:
- High School Diploma or General Education Development Certificate (GED).
- Post-secondary training for an office environment.
- Previous customer service experience in a diverse, high-traffic environment.
- Previous computer or cash experience is desired.
- Previous clerical and multi-line phone experience desired.
