The City of Maize Public Works Department is currently accepting applications for a Seasonal Maintenance Worker. This is a full-time, seasonal position available between May and September, with flexible start and end dates based on candidate availability.
Ray Range:
$16.90 – $23.88 per hour (Step 1–15, based on qualifications)
Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of unskilled labor tasks as assigned
- Assist with grounds maintenance across all City properties
- Operate maintenance tools and equipment safely and efficiently
- Promote the goodwill of the City through quality service and teamwork
- Follow safety protocols and complete other duties as assigned
Skills:
- Ability to perform manual labor in a variety of conditions
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather
- Ability to lift and carry up to 90 pounds
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to be punctual and maintain regular attendance
Education and Experience:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- At least 18 years old upon hire date.
- Valid Driver's License upon date of hire and ability to maintain insurability with the City.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
