Join our team at Madison Public Library and help shape the future of library technology! Under the guidance of the Library Facilities Manager and in collaboration with our experienced Library IT Specialist 3, you’ll play a key role in planning, developing, and supporting a wide range of technology systems. This position involves close collaboration with the City’s Information Technology Department, the South Central Library System (SCLS), private contractors, and other public and private partners. You'll have the opportunity to support both patrons and staff in navigating the complexities of the digital age, ensuring that this valued public institution remains relevant and responsive to community needs. This series is structured to provide advancement from Library IT Specialist 1 to Library IT Specialist 2, as a function of the employee's career development and generally occurs after two (2) years.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:45pm, with occasional evening, weekend, and on-call responsibilities as needed to support library operations and technology systems.

Minimum Qualifications
Two (2) years of experience with the following:
- Relevant personal computer technology and standardized system applications (hardware and software).
- Standardized support, maintenance and operation criteria for computer systems.
- Use and teach various computer applications for Windows and IOS.

- Associate's degree in computer science or a closely related field
AND;
- One (1) year of directly related experience supporting information systems or technology

- Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a closely related field
