This is responsible professional and supervisory work in directing and administering the programs, operations, and functions of the Information Technology Project Portfolio Team. This position serves as a high-level IT Project Manager for a wide variety of projects. Under general direction, this position assumes primary responsibility for project management planning, selecting, installing, implementing, enhancing, and maintaining enterprise electronic business systems/solutions that support Citywide operations. Additionally, this position tracks project expenditures; coordinates across the organization to ensure enterprise systems and needs are addressed in Citywide IT operations and projects; and contributes to and ensures alignment with the City’s Information Technology Enterprise Architecture and Strategic Priorities for all assigned solutions.

Minimum Qualifications
- Four (4) years of experience in applying the following:
- Applicable professional/technical principles and practices including technical project management, application lifecycle management, and applicable industry applications/systems platform tools.
- Management of large-scale and/or enterprise-wide projects; AND
- Certification in one of the following:
- Program Management Professional (PgMP); OR
- Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP)
-OR-
- Four (4) years of advanced-level professional experience comparable to that gained as an IT Specialist 2 with the City of Madison, including at least one (1) year in a technical or project leadership capacity.
-OR-
- Two (2) years of advanced-level professional experience comparable to that gained as an IT Specialist 2 with the City of Madison, including at least one (1) year in a technical or project leadership capacity; AND
- Associate's (or higher level) degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Other equivalent combinations of training and experience will be considered.
