Mechanic/Maintenance Worker.
The City of Loveland is hiring a civil service, full-time position of Mechanic/Maintenance Worker for the Public Works Department.
This position performs general maintenance and vehicle mechanical duties, street repair, grounds maintenance, and snow/ice control.
Minimum Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED
· Two (2) years documented work experience in automotive and heavy-duty vehicle diagnosis, repair, and maintenance and experience working in a construction or public works maintenance program OR equivalent combination of education and experience
· Experience in automotive and vehicle mechanics, including diesel engine repair and maintenance
· Valid Ohio driver’s license in good standing and insurable status with the City’s insurance carrier is required.
· Must have or be able to obtain CDL within six (6) months of service upon hire.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Repair and maintain vehicles and engines, including diesel engines
· Learn the methods, materials and equipment used in building and grounds maintenance
· Operate and control power tools
· Small trucks and equipment, including snow blowers
· Provide and follow both written and oral instructions
· Lift, dig, and bend, including while making repairs
· Work in extreme weather conditions; work independently; sit, stand, and perform varied and strenuous physical manual work for prolonged periods
Pay range $51,784-$71,216/annually DOE. The position includes a competitive compensation package and benefits, including pension pickup, vacation and sick leave, comprehensive health care, and paid holidays.
