Operates and maintains mechanical systems by making repairs and performing preventative maintenance on all assigned facilities.
Installs, modifies, repairs, to ensure efficient operations of facility systems.
Repairs, maintains and services HVAC, commercial refrigeration units, ice machines, kitchen equipment and related electrical and plumbing systems.
Position operates in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures.Working independently, performs a variety of specialized equipment operation and labor tasks in order to maintain all assigned facility mechanical systems; duties will vary according to job assignment. Operates, maintains and services HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment, commercial kitchen equipment, and other miscellaneous equipment. Makes necessary plumbing and electrical adjustments and repairs within the scope of mechanical and related systems. Maintenance and service of commercial compressors, boilers and chillers. Completes special projects related to building and facility maintenance. Adherence to City policies, procedures and standards. Utilizes proper safety precautions in all work performed; reports problems and emergency situations; recognizes, avoids, and reports unsafe acts, conditions, accidents and injuries. Collects information, purchases supplies, prepares reports, and maintains records as required. Provides customer service and responds to questions within scope of authority. Operates a variety of equipment and vehicles. Responsible for the maintenance of vehicles and equipment in accordance with City safety procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned or required.High School diploma or GED equivalent, and two years experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems, and other mechanical systems. Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License. May be required to obtain Certified Operator status for specialized equipment and functions to include Puron Course, EPA Recovery Type III License, and TDLR for Boiler licensing; additional technical training and certifications may be required. Must pass a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) background check.Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions, with exposure to hazardous equipment; requires constant physical efforts, and ability to lift and move items weighing up to one hundred (100) pounds, climbing up and down ladders and balance and standing on unlevel surfaces.
