Event Monitor

Description

Performs a variety of routine facility maintenance duties on behalf of the City's Maude Cobb Activity Complex; participates in the set-up and break down of events; monitors events; provides custodial services to lessees; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Examples of Duties

Assists in setting up, breaking down, and cleaning up events held at the City's Activity Complex. Monitors event activities and assists in ensuring the safe and proper use of event facilities by lessees and the general public. Provides custodial services to lessees during events. Performs general cleaning and maintenance of Activity Complex facilities including offices, restrooms, meeting rooms, reception areas, and lobbies. Sweeps, mops, and buffs floors; vacuums carpets and floor mats. Dusts furniture; cleans fixtures, walls, glass/metal surfaces, chalkboards, and ashtrays. Cleans and sanitizes restroom facilities; restocks paper and soap products. Performs clean up of outside areas; sweeps leaves and debris from sidewalks; picks up trash in parking lot areas; monitors and ensures entry ways are clean. Empties, removes, and transports trash to appropriate disposal area. Stocks and organizes custodial supply rooms; cleans, maintains, and ensures janitorial equipment is properly stored. Assists in ordering facility maintenance equipment and supplies as assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent, and one year facility maintenance experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

Work is performed in and around activity complex facilities. Subject to walking/standing for extended periods of time, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders, operating equipment, and lifting of objects up to 60 pounds. Exposure to variable weather conditions, machinery with moving parts, cleaning chemicals, hazardous materials, infectious diseases, and potentially irate members of the public is involved.
