This is a fixed-term position expected to end December 2026.

Definition:

Provides clinical and functional supervision of resource staff, youth services staff, and counseling interns. Provides one-on-one, family, and group counseling services in a limited capacity. Facilitates strategic planning, implements, conducts, and evaluates programs and services that provide youth pro social programing for building leadership skills, community connection and the intervention and prevention of delinquent behavior, as well as support and skill building for their caregivers.

Performs community outreach efforts to identify, develop, implement, and coordinate responses to issues affecting youth and their caregivers in the Longmont area. Provides consultation and referral assignments in support of the City partnerships with St. Vrain School district, the Longmont Housing Authority and Safety & Justice CORE and LEAD teams.

Principal Duties:

Clinician I

• Provide clinical guidance and supervision in area of mental health, substance abuse, and other areas of expertise to professional and administrative staff of the REWIND team, youth programing team and Longmont Housing Authority including mandatory reporting training and support.
• Provide clinical consultation in support of the City partnership with the Longmont Housing Authority as well as with the REWIND, CORE and LEAD teams in Safety & Justice. Facilitate assignments of referrals from REWIND, LHA, CORE, and LEAD teams.
• Provide youth specific mental health and/or substance abuse consultation to CYF staff, REWIND team, other City staff, and community agencies. Advocate and Promote equity and inclusion.
• Provide short-term individual, couples, and family therapy dealing with issues such as but not limited to substance abuse, criminal involvement, homelessness, depression, anxiety, abuse, loss, trauma, parenting, intimate partner violence, and relationship conflicts.
• Conduct intake and assessment of potential therapy clients who have not been screened by staff clinician or interns and incorporate and utilize the strengths/assets approach to intake and case plan development.
• Provide short-term clinical case management services to at-risk youth and their families and youth experiencing homelessness with the goal of reducing harm and maintaining safe community living.
• Provide education, consultation, programs, and support for parents and caregivers.
• Maintain client clinical notes and program records, and prepare related reports as necessary.

· Manage data for counseling and REWIND program, create reports as needed, use data to inform innovative programing and to identify service gaps.

• Coordinate and manage program operation, including budgeting and administration of resources for community mental wellness services, education, parent education, and emotional support programs for the Longmont community.
• Develop budget recommendations for assigned programs and operate the programs in a fiscally responsible manner, including collaboration with community partners.
• Conduct community outreach and market programs about mental wellness. Prepare appropriate promotional materials.
• Act as an advocate and a leader in the community for youth and family's wellness.
• Collaborate with community agencies, groups, businesses, city staff, and individuals to promote mental wellness, increase understanding and reduce stigma. Collaboration includes formal and informal training, outreach, education, and involvement. Community work to include, but is not limited to topics of self-care, parenting, depression, anxiety, substance use, and awareness of youth developmental stages.
• Actively seek, develop, and maintain strong relationships with community partners in order to leverage services for youth and families.
• Collaborate with other professionals, agencies, and organizations to combine resources, networks, programs, and to maximize results relevant to youth and their families.
• Identify gaps in services and trends in programs relevant to youth their caregivers and their families.
• Take a leadership role in community networks and projects relevant to youth, families, substance abuse, and mental wellbeing; facilitate strategic planning to address equity and inclusion as it pertains to the needs of youth and their families.
• Participate in clinical supervision or consultation.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with DORA regulations, maintaining active clinical licensure and all required certifications in good standing.
• Pursue professional development through continuing education and current literature.

Clinician II

• All duties of Clinician I.
• Supervise, select, train, and evaluate resource staff and counseling interns providing counseling and/or clinical case management services for CYF youth services and the REWIND program.
• Act as team leader in various capacities to CYF and REWIND staff.

Working Environment:

Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment. Requires the ability to hear and communicate in both verbal and written form, read and understand a variety of written materials, work under stress, and manage multiple concurrent tasks and interruptions. Requires working alone, as well as working closely with others, including the public (primarily youth aged 11-19 years and their families; in some cases it may be necessary to work with youth under the age of 11), business, school, and church leaders, co-workers, and other youth serving professionals. Confidentiality is required. Work may require transporting youth to/from sponsored activities. Transportation to and from an off-site work place will also be required several days per week. Work requires the ability to prepare monthly and quarterly program progress reports and maintain program statistics. Work may involve conflict and potential problems of a volatile nature.

This position requires extensive contact and interaction with community youth. An essential component of the hiring process will be a criminal background screening for conviction of any sexual offenses.

Qualifications:

Clinician I: A Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in social work, psychology, individual and family therapy, counseling, or equivalent experience and two or more years of experience counseling adolescents. Demonstrated experience in community development, public relations, marketing and program evaluation is desirable. Must show proof of passage of Jurisprudence Exam and registration as an Unlicensed Psychotherapist with DORA. Special Qualifications: Bilingual (English/Spanish) Advanced proficiency required. Possession of a valid Colorado Driver’s License.

Clinician II: A Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in social work, psychology, individual and family therapy, counseling, or equivalent experience and two or more years of experience counseling adolescents. Demonstrated experience in community development, public relations, marketing and program evaluation is desirable.

Special Qualifications: Bilingual (English/Spanish) Advanced proficiency required. Possession of a valid Colorado Driver’s License. Must hold a valid Mental Health Professional license in the State of Colorado.
