The Office of Councilmember Kristina Duggan is looking for a highly organized, professional, and detail-oriented individual to serve as the Councilmember Duggan's Scheduler. This part-time Scheduler (Legislative Aide, Non-Career) position will support the day-to-day coordination of the Councilmember’s calendar, meeting requests, community events, office materials, and administrative needs.


About Councilmember Kristina Duggan
First elected in November 2022 and re-elected in June 2026, Councilmember Kristina Duggan is driven by her passion for community service, public safety, and the vitality of the local business community. As a Councilmember, Kristina is working to address issues most impacting the residents of the 3rd District including issues related to public safety, homelessness, infrastructure, and fiscal responsibility.


Kristina has been a proud resident living and working in the 3rd District of Long Beach for 27 years. Kristina co-owns and operates Dr. Duggan & Associates, a successful local behavioral health center in the Belmont Heights area of Long Beach. She and her husband, Matt, live in Belmont Shore and are proud parents of two children, Shannon and Matthew.

The Scheduler will be responsible for managing and coordinating the Councilmember’s calendar, supporting office operations, and other administrative tasks. Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing, tracking, and responding to scheduling requests from residents, community organizations, City staff, elected officials, public agencies, and other stakeholders
  • Coordinating internal and external meetings, including confirming attendees, locations, virtual meeting links, briefing materials, and logistics
  • Coordinating event attendance, including collecting event details, speaking roles, arrival times, parking information, and staff support needs
  • Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date calendar for the Councilmember and the Office
  • Helping prioritize scheduling requests based on office goals, district needs, time sensitivity, and the Councilmember’s availability
  • Preparing daily and weekly calendar summaries for the Councilmember and staff
  • Preparing certificates, recognitions, and other materials for community members, organizations, events, and special occasions
  • Preparing meeting materials, event materials, briefing packets, agendas, handouts, sign-in sheets, and other documents as needed
  • Communicating professionally with constituents, community partners, City departments, and external stakeholders
  • Providing general administrative support to the office, including document preparation, data entry, file organization, copying, printing, supply coordination, and other office tasks as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalency is required.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed.

Successful candidates should have:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Professional judgment when handling sensitive or confidential information
  • Comfort communicating with residents, public officials, community leaders, and City staff
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Proficiency with calendar systems, email, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canva, or similar tools
  • Interest in local government, public service, constituent services, or community engagement

This position is an exempt, at-will position. The incumbent will not accrue any civil service tenure or contractual employment rights in such position. The Legislative Aide Non-Career is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Council Office. Non-Career employees are allowed a maximum of 1,600 work hours available over a 12 month period and are considered temporary, at-will employees who are not typically eligible for benefits. However, non-career employees may qualify for health coverage and sick leave accruals subject to applicable federal and state provisions.
