STEP #2 - WRITTEN EXAM: Scheduling notices will be sent via email to all eligible candidates. These appointments are available on a first-come first served-basis. The written exams will be conducted the October 17th, 30th, and November 14th.(You must be invited to schedule and sign-up before you will be allowed to test.)
Location: Willie Hinton Neighborhood Resource Center. Times of exams will be provided when scheduling exam.*
Study guides for the NFSI written exam are not required but are available at no expense via coupon provided once test eligibility is confirmed at the website here.
Step #3 - PHYSICAL AGILITY TESTING: Candidates who pass the written exam will be eligible for the Physical Agility testing and will be notified via email. Testing will be administered at LRFD Training the week of December 7th-11th, 2026. Dates/times will be will be provided to eligible candidates via email. Please see the link below for a breakdown of the LRFD Physical ability test.
Step #4 - STRUCTURED INTERVIEWS: Interviews will be administered the month of of February 2027. Dates/times will be provided to eligible candidates via email.
Step #5 - ELIGIBLE LIST: Candidates that successfully complete all steps of the hiring process will be placed on an eligible list ranked by composite score. These rankings will be used to select the candidates for the 2027 Fire Academy, tentative to begin March/April 2027.
