In order to utilize Remote Testing, you must have access to BOTH of the following:
- Mobile smartphone or tablet. The GoToMeeting app will be used as the video/audio app for the Test Proctor to monitor and communicate with candidates during the exam.
- Desktop or Laptop PC running Windows 10 or later OR a MacOS 10.13 or later. The Safe Exam Browser will be downloaded to this device in order for candidates to take the exam.

Life Insurance – The Basic Life Benefit is 2x times your salary. Mid Managers and above is 3x your salary. The premium is 100% paid by the employer and is effective your hire date.
Accidental Death & Dismemberment – The AD&D benefit is 1x your annual salary rounded to the next thousand of coverage.
Long Term Disability– 60% of salary continuance after 6-month elimination period.
RETIREMENT
PENSION – All full time, uniform employees
Retirement and disability benefits are provided through the State of Arkansas Local Police and Fire Retirement System (LOPFI) program.
OTHER COMPENSATION
LONGEVITY PAY (provided to all employees)
Longevity pay will be paid at the rate of $4 per month for each year of service up to and including the fifth (5th) year and $6 per month for each year of service beginning at six (6) years and each year thereafter.
LEAVE(S)
Vacation
Employees will accrue the equivalent of fifteen (15) vacation days (based on an eight-hour day) annually
Sick
Employees shall accrue the equivalent of twenty (20) sick days (based on an eight-hour day) annually
Discretionary
All employees with five (5) to fifteen (15) years of continuous service shall be granted forty (40) discretionary hours off per year.
All employees with fifteen (15) or more years of continuous service shall be granted fifty-six (56) discretionary hours off per year.
Funeral
In the event of the death of a spouse, child, mother, father, brother, sister, of the employee or the employee’s spouse the employee may request up to five (5) days of time off with pay.
Education Incentive Pay
*After Academy graduation, police officers will receive education incentive pay (EIP) for fifteen (15) or more hours of college credit*Amount Per Pay Period
Additional Financial Incentives
- Bilingual or second language differentials available.
- Residency incentives available of up to $5,000.
- Academy graduation incentives available of up to $10,000.
- Shift differentials paid for hours worked after 3:00 p.m.
