Interested in street maintenance? In this hands-on role you will have the opportunity to work on the paved roads in Lancaster County outside the city limits of Lincoln. Some examples include repairing asphalt and concrete, maintaining road surfaces by sealing joints and cracks, and maintaining roadway shoulder integrity. Other responsibilities for this position may include snow removal, storm cleanup, flood response or road-related support for any other emergency that may affect the traveling public. Schedule: Full-Time
Winter Hours (October – April): Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Summer Hours (April – October): Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Please note: Hours may vary depending on weather conditions or emergency needs, including occasional weekend or holiday work.
This position is part of our safety-sensitive workforce and is subject to mandatory drug testing as a condition of employment.
Minimum Qualifications/Necessary Special Requirements
Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent and at least one year experience with heavy construction work, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Necessary Specialist Requirements: Possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured by the County’s insurance carrier. Employees must possess and maintain a valid Nebraska Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and any applicable endorsements within 60 days.
