Lincoln Wastewater System is searching for the right candidate to fill the role of Assistant Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. This is skilled work participating in the operation of a major segment of a wastewater treatment plant on an assigned shift.
Work involves responsibility for participating in the inspection, monitoring, and general operation of a wastewater treatment plant and assisting in the collection of wastewater and sludge samples. Work also involves performing minor preventative maintenance and preprocess control tasks as directed.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Assisting the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator in the operation of the Water Resource Recovery Facilities
Assisting in maintaining records related to facilities operation and maintenance
Assisting and coordinating with Wastewater System supervisors in other operations and administrative duties
Work Schedule: 12 a.m. - 8 a.m. or 4 p.m. - 12 a.m. Saturday through Wednesday (Thursday and Friday Off)
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- Six months of experience or training in mechanical maintenance or operating pumps and valves
Necessary Special Requirements
Must be able to obtain a Nebraska Class I Wastewater Operators License or higher from the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy Health within 12 months of hire.
