What are the responsibilities and job description for the American Job Center Internship Program position at City of Lincoln/Lancaster County?
The American Job Center (AJC) is seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals ages 16-24 to join our AJC Internship Program. Interns will gain hands-on experience in the local workforce, contribute to meaningful projects, and develop professional skills that will prepare them for future careers. We encourage those who are eager to get first-time work experience, individuals with justice-involved backgrounds, or anyone who may be facing an obstacle to employment to apply.
Internships are typically 30 hours per week and last around eight weeks.
Example Responsibilities:
- Assist department staff with day-to-day tasks and projects
- Conduct research and compile reports
- Support community programs, facilities, or events
- Participate in team meetings and/or peer workshops
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Individuals ages 16-24
- Interest in public service and/or career exploration
- Willing to learn excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Professional attitude and punctuality
