What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stormwater Service Worker I, II,III position at City of Lexington North Carolina?
The Stormwater Service Worker I, II, III performs skilled, and technical work in the construction, maintenance, placement and repair of public infrastructures and facilities such as streets, sidewalks, drainage, signage, bridges and related structures for the Stormwater Department.

Minimum Qualifications Stormwater Service Worker I
- Graduation from high school or GED
- Valid NC Class B commercial driver’s license (CDL) or valid out-of-state Class B CDL with the ability to transfer to a valid NC Class B CDL within sixty days of employment and good driving record
- Ability to obtain Class A commercial driver’s license within 1 year of employment.
- Flagger certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
Minimum Qualifications Stormwater Service Worker II
- Graduation from high school or GED
- Two years of experience in the installation, maintenance, placement, and repair of stormwater structures, pipes, curbing, retaining walls, and related public infrastructure
- Valid NC Class B commercial driver’s license (CDL) or valid out-of-state Class B CDL with ability to transfer to a valid NC Class B CDL within sixty days of employment and good driving record
- Ability to obtain Class A commercial driver’s license within 1 year of employment
- Road Scholar Certification from the Institute for Transportation Research and Education or ability to obtain within one year of employment
Minimum Qualifications Stormwater Service Worker III
- Graduation from high school or GED
- Four years of experience in the installation, maintenance, placement, and repair of stormwater structures, pipes, curbing, retaining walls, and related public infrastructure
- Valid NC Class B commercial driver’s license (CDL) or valid out-of-state Class B CDL with ability to transfer to a valid NC Class B CDL within sixty days of employment and good driving record
- Ability to obtain Class A commercial driver’s license within 1 year of employment
- Road Scholar Certification from the Institute for Transportation Research and Education or obtain within one year of employment
Work Schedule
Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm. On call shifts.
Paid bi-weekly.
