This position is responsible for providing a positive day camp experience for participants by supervising day-to-day activities for the Wild About LLELA Outdoor Camp program at Lewisville Lake Environmental Education Area (LLELA), Nature Preserve. The Day Camp Attendant assists the Day Camp Leader in the operation of Wild About LLELA, which includes providing daily outdoor activities for children ages 7-12. This position will require extensive contact with children and adult citizens.
The City of Lewisville's Parks & Recreation Department is currently seeking Day Camp Attendants to be a part of a great team that serves over 100,000 community members. This is a seasonal position from May – June.
Entry: $13.64/hour
Year 2: $14.14
Year 3: $14.65
Year 4: $15.15
Year 5: $15.66

Experience: Prior experience working with children and/or instructing day camp activities for children ages six to fifteen preferred.

Licenses and Certifications: Must obtain CPR and First Aid Certification upon hire.
Conditions of Employment: Must submit to and pass a criminal background and pre-employment drug test.
Other Requirements: Must be at least 16 years of age.

Knowledge of: Recreational games, crafts, and activities; coordinating daily activities; supervising and interacting with children ages seven to twelve; working outdoors, sometimes in adverse conditions.
Skilled in: Accept responsibility and account for his/her actions; follow instructions, safety practices and standard operating procedures in performing assigned tasks; supervise and interact with children ages seven to eleven; use good judgment regarding safety measures for planned activities; work outdoors, sometimes in adverse condition; following instructions, safety practices, and standard operating procedures in performing assigned tasks; communicating effectively, clearly, and concisely both orally and in writing; being punctual and attending work regularly; and working effectively with people regardless of their race, sex, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, veteran' s status, genetics, or job type.Monday-Friday 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, with paid training days.

- Implements, monitors, and coordinates daily activities for the day camp program.
- Assists with daily preparation of activities including arts and crafts, games, kayaking, fishing, hikes, and other outdoor activities.
- Interacts with camp participants in a variety of outdoor recreational activities.
- Ensures that daily camp activities are conducted in a safe, professional manner following all safety measures and protocols.
- Communicates camp equipment and supply needs to the Day Camp Leader.
- Maintains facility appearance during and after camp activities.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
