Lifeguard

The City of Lawrenceburg is currently accepting applications for seasonal Lifeguards at the Pat O'Neill Memorial Pool.  Applicants must have, or be able to obtain by May 31, 2026, a valid Lifeguard Certification issued by the American Red Cross and must be at least 16 years old by May 18, 2026. The season for the Pat O'Neill Memorial Pool runs from early May through September.

The City of Lawrenceburg will reimburse the cost of Lifeguard training for any Lifeguard hired and remains actively employed as a Lifeguard with the City of Lawrenceburg for the 2026 season. *See Lifeguard Certification Training at the bottom of this posting for upcoming local Lifeguard Training Courses.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Prolonged periods of sitting in guard chair as well as standing while remaining alert and aware of activities in and around the pool. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Talk, hear, and speak, walking, stooping, crouching. Must occasionally  lift and/or move up to 40 pounds unassisted.

Applicants are responsible for contacting, scheduling, and paying any applicable fees for the training received. Please contact each training program contact for questions about Lifeguard training.
