What are the responsibilities and job description for the BUILDING MAINTENANCE SPORTS PAVILION LAWRENCE® position at City of Lawrence?
To apply, you should be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license. Your tasks will include using vacuums and other equipment to keep carpeted areas clean, as well as using dust mops on tiled floors and addressing any stains with wet mops. You'll also take care of trash—emptying bins, cleaning containers, and replacing liners. Keeping furniture, blinds, and other surfaces dust-free is part of the job, along with cleaning windows, ledges, and whiteboards. Some locations may require handling of biohazard materials, so a keen eye on safety is important.
For resilient surfaces, you'll use dust mops, scrubbing machines, and other specialized tools to maintain cleanliness. Spot cleaning of walls, doors, carpets, and kickplates will also be part of your routine, along with washing windows and polishing surfaces. You’ll need to keep an eye out for damaged fire extinguisher cases and report anything that needs attention to your supervisor. Additionally, daily cleaning of exterior entrances, including snow and ice removal, is essential. Regular checks and maintenance of outdoor areas, including handicapped access ramps, elevators, and doors, will be part of your responsibilities as well.
