Responsibilities
- Officiate softball games with enthusiasm, ensuring all players adhere to established rules and regulations.
- Make quick, accurate decisions on plays, calls, and infractions to maintain game flow and fairness.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with players, coaches, and spectators to promote respectful interactions.
- Manage on-field conflicts or disputes professionally using conflict management skills to de-escalate situations.
- Enforce safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for all participants.
- Maintain focus and attention throughout the game to uphold high standards of officiating.
- Support the development of young athletes by encouraging sportsmanship and positive behavior.
Requirements
- Previous experience or knowledge of softball rules and gameplay is preferred; familiarity with basketball or other sports coaching experience is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to clearly convey calls and manage interactions with players, coaches, and spectators.
- Ability to handle conflict situations calmly and professionally while maintaining control of the game.
- Experience working with children or youth sports participants is highly desirable.
- Must be energetic, attentive, and able to stand or move around for extended periods during games.
