The City of Laramie is looking for a Customer Operations Specialist to perform a variety of duties at the Ice & Event Center. This position works under the supervision of full-time Recreation Staff to provide for all aspects of the customer experience at the Ice & Event Center, including offering customer service at the front desk, maintaining the cleanliness and condition of the facility, answering public inquiries, assisting patrons and ensuring for the safe and respectful behavior of those using the facility by enforcing policies and rules as appropriate.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

• Provide excellent customer service to patrons and program participants in-person and over the phone.
• Work with Recreation Staff to provide for overall facility operations, including the opening and closing of the facility, set up, tear down and clean up for scheduled programs and activities.
• Work in a customer service capacity at the front desk utilizing the computer and office systems required to manage customer accounts, register participants, reserve facilities and answer patron questions.
• Monitor the activities of patrons and program participants to ensure safe and respectful behavior in the facility, enforcing policies and rules as appropriate.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have excellent customer service skills, both in-person and over the phone and be able to learn to use computer systems to handle money and patron information.
• Must be available to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends in an independent and reliable fashion.
• Must be able to work effectively in a team atmosphere; ability to work well under general supervision; communicate well verbally; work well in a dynamic and often busy environment..
• First aid and CPR/AED certification are required (training will be provided to successful candidate.)
  
  

**Preferred Qualifications:(A combination of the following experience and training, or the equivalent of, would be qualifying):**

• Working knowledge of computer systems and experience with cash handling.
• Experience working with the general public, including parents and children, seniors, interest groups and other staff under supervision.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, customers, and the general public; ability to create and maintain enthusiasm in the workplace.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
  
  

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, swim, walk, kneel, crouch, squat, stoop, reach, crawl, twist, climb, balance, lift 50 lbs., occasionally push or pull 100 lbs., and far and near acuity. Work environment includes exposure to noise, outdoors, confining workspace, chemicals, dust, mechanical and electrical hazards, exposure to blood-borne pathogens, body fluids and tissue, and diseases. Ability to travel to different sites, and ability for evening and weekend work.
