The ideal candidate will possess effective communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Elected Officials, other City employees, members of the media, and the public. This is a great opportunity for those knowledgeable in the principles and practices of media production, the operation, maintenance, & repair of production equipment, and practices and procedures used in developing, editing, storing and shipping of media products.

Mayoral Part-time Employee
Summary
Vision Insurance Employees will be eligible for Blue Cross Blue Shield VSP 12/12/12 Vision Plan. This plan provides vision exams, lenses and frames, and contact with a co-pay. Coverage will begin the first of the month following your date of hire.
Dental Insurance: The City will provided Delta Dental coverage effective the first day of the month following thirty calendar days of service. Coverage includes the employee and family members. Coverage includes 100% coverage for cleaning; 50% coverage for treatment costs with a $1,500 maximum per person per contract year. Employees and dependents will also receive orthodontic coverage which provides fifty percent (50%) of treatment costs with a $3,000.00 lifetime maximum per person.
Personal Leave: Employees will receive sixteen hours of personal leave days, annually on January 1 or at time of hire. Personal days must be used by December 31 or they shall be forfeited.
Michigan Paid Medical Leave Act Employees will be provided paid medical leave as indicated by the Michigan Paid Medical Leave Act. Eligible employees will be credited with time January 1st of each year.
Parking/Transportation Subsidy: An employee shall be eligible for a monthly CATA bus pass at the City's expense or elect to receive a parking subsidy.
Deferred Compensation: Employees are eligible to participate in the City’s 457 Deferred Compensation Plans. Currently the City contracts with two vendors that employees may choose from; these plans are Aetna Life & Annuity and T. Rowe Price. Employee may contribute up to a maximum allowable by law annually through payroll deduction. For a bi-weekly employee the minimum contribution is $25.00 per pay period. Summaries are available in the Department of Human Resources.
AFLAC – Employees may participate in AFLAC plans. You may enroll within 30 days of your hire date, or anytime during Open Enrollment period which is May of each year. Summaries are available in the Department of Human Resources.

- Position requires that you work in person thirty (30) hours per week.
- Must submit "Demo Reel"
- Associates degree in communication arts, speech, television and radio, film, media arts, audio/video production, or a related field;
- AND, one (1) year of professional experience in directing, producing, filming audio/video material for media production and release;
- AND, must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Equivalent education, training, and experience may be considered.
- Sets up and films media events, City Council and board meetings, City educational programs and other production for broadcast on the City's television station and internet.
- Sequences and edits production work for broadcast.
- Keeps calendar of events and programs to be filmed.
- Keeps abreast of the latest trends and advances in media technology.
- Maintains and catalogs digital files and show masters.
- Maintains records and prepares reports and correspondence related to work.
- Operates, maintains, and repairs production equipment.
