Hourly Range: $27.06-$31.32

Classification: Temporary

FLSA: Non-Exempt – Overtime Eligible


 

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, provides logistical, administrative, and program support for the Lancaster Police Department’s DUID Educational campaign. The Senior Technical Assistant will be responsible for completing the day-to-day operational and fiscal tasks of the grant program, including scheduling, coordination, and logistics of community events, contract and invoice processing, budget monitoring, and quarterly reporting. Oversees project schedules, maintains organized records, and coordinates social media campaigns and event planning. Acts as a liaison for communications, tracks inventory and purchases of campaign materials and supports community outreach efforts to ensure successful project execution. This position is funded by the California Highway Patrol Cannabis Tax Fund Grant Program. The City and State will evaluate the effectiveness of the position on an annual basis to determine the next fiscal year’s funding level. Either party may terminate funding for the position at the end of each fiscal year, resulting in termination of the position.


Comprehensive Background Investigation:
As part of the overall evaluation and selection process, selected candidates must successfully complete a Live Scan fingerprinting clearance prior to being assigned a background investigator. Upon clearance, candidates will undergo a comprehensive background investigation to determine their suitability for employment.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee program activities to ensure alignment with goals and service standards outlined in the grant agreement between the city and the state entity.
  • Collaborate closely with service providers to enhance coordination and improve program service delivery outcomes.
  • Maintain partnerships with nonprofit, and city service providers to support program effectiveness.
  • Collect, analyze, and compile program data including service delivery metrics, attendance, surveys, assessments, and outcomes to support quarterly reporting
  • Prepare comprehensive quarterly reports summarizing program impact, challenges, recommendations, and next quarter activities.
  • Support the planning and coordination of community events that align with program objectives and service delivery enhancements.
  • Assist in the preparation, presentation, and dissemination of program materials, surveys, and partner communications to ensure consistent messaging and feedback collection.
  • Document and relay partner feedback and community input to inform continuous program improvement
  • Monitor program implementation and actively contribute to identifying and addressing gaps or barriers within services.
  • Prepare and submit program budget requests, assess personnel usage, equipment, and collaborate with superiors on funding priorities.
  • Support weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly program meetings, ensuring programs remain centered on human impact and real-time data.
  • Enter and maintain accurate program and service data using Tyler software to support tracking, reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare MOA’s, purchase orders, review and enter invoices into financial system.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Experienced in managing county funds and grants, including compliance with associated requirements.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university majoring in Public Administration, Social Work, Business, or a related field is desirable
