What are the responsibilities and job description for the Park Facilities (On-Call) position at City of Lake Oswego?
HOURS: This is an “on-call” year-round position, scheduled up to 20 hours per week. There are no employee benefits, except Oregon Sick Leave, associated with the position.
Starting hourly rate: $21 - $25
- Performs routine maintenance, installation, repair, and cleaning of equipment, systems, and infrastructure common to a Public Park.
- Supports Park staff and responds to staff requests for equipment repair and troubleshooting.
- Performs carpentry, minor plumbing, misc. projects and painting.
- Be able to mask and paint buildings and facilities inside and out using rollers, brushes, and spray equipment.
- Ability to refinish wood benches and picnic tables.
- Responds to and resolves complaints or issues.
- Operate equipment such as a Forklift provided training and certification.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature and level.
- Repair restroom amenities, IE: toilets, sinks, grab bars, etc.
- Minor parking lot striping.
- Pressure washing.
- Install signs and sign posts.
- Diagnose and repair drinking fountains inside and out.
- Prep and install small concrete pads.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Operate and maintain applicable vehicles, equipment, hand and power tools.

Education, Training and Experience:
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is with a High School Diploma or GED and, as assigned, or an equivalent combination of training and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Licensing and Other Requirements:Positions in this classification are required to possess a valid driver’s license and ability to meet the City’s driving standards.
Physical and Mental Demands:
Frequent repetitive motions including, but are not limited to, hand, wrist and finger movements; daily walking, reaching, standing, talking, hearing and seeing. Heavy Physical Work: Must be able to move objects by exerting up to fifty (50) pounds of force occasionally and/or up to twenty (20) pounds of force frequently, and/or up to ten (10) pounds of force consistently.
Duties will occasionally involve working in adverse or inclement weather conditions; exposure to high noise levels; dealing with distraught or difficult individuals; attending meetings or activities outside normal working hours; occasional response to emergency conditions during off-hours; occasional operation of a motor vehicle on public roads.
