SALARY:
$2,431.60 – $2,799.74 bi-weekly
DESCRIPTION:
Incumbent works as Sewer Foreman for Lafayette Renew, responsible for repairing and maintaining collection
system sewer lines, storm water catch basins, and manhole access structures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Repairs and replaces drainage tiles, manhole structures, and catch basins using a variety of hand tools, trash
- Installs sewer lines and access manhole structures. Performs sewer tap inspections, sewer locates and related
- Assigns workloads to crews and assures work is done correctly. Trains employees in confined space entry,
- Performs construction work including building concrete forms, shoveling, leveling, and measuring.
- Spreads and rakes hot and cold parch asphalt mix and other paving materials to proper thickness and grade
- Performs landscaping duties such as grading slopes, seeding, cutting grass, trimming branches, and removing
- Safely operates pick-up truck with utility trailer, dump trucks, utility concrete truck, utility location devices,
sewer rodding and cleaning equipment, jackhammer, portable air compressor, backhoe, bobcat, jet vac
cleaner, TV van, and lateral camera, and make repairs to cameras as needed.
- Serves on 24-hour call for emergencies.
- Possess and maintain a valid CDL Class B Commercial Driver’s License with a tanker endorsement (N), along
with a demonstrated safe driving record.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- High school diploma or GED required and equivalent combination of training and/or work experience in
- Ability to learn OSHA safety procedures for “Right to Know,” MSA meter, confined space entry, methane gas
- Ability to safely operate a wide variety of hand and power tools, including hammers, shovel, chain saw, drills,
manhole structures, and drainage ditches.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and act upon verbal and written instructions, policies, and procedures
