Maintenance Worker I - Streets

As a Maintenance Worker I with our Streets team, you may be called upon to perform a variety of tasks to ensure the city streets, parking lots, sidewalks, storm sewers, and rights-of-way are well-maintained and safe for public use including:

• Filling potholes and working on concrete & asphalt projects
• Operating various light and heavy construction equipment (i.e., hand & power tools, jackhammers, trucks, front-end loaders, and skid steers)
• Engaging in snow removal and storm debris clean up
• Performing preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment
• Helping with the set-up and clean-up for community events
• Providing support to the other Public Works teams as needed

Note: In this particular position, you will be tasked primarily with the maintenance of traffic signals, city street/road signs, and pavement markings/paint striping.

Qualifications and skills needed:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Possess a valid driver's license
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
• Strong work ethic, good attitude, and attention to detail
• Ability to maintain regular and dependable attendance

This is a full-time position working Monday - Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm (Labor Day to Memorial Day) and from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm (Memorial Day to Labor Day)

A background check, physical examination, and drug screen will follow all conditional offers of employment.
