What are the responsibilities and job description for the Casual Laborer - Water Department position at City of La Crosse?
The City of La Crosse is seeking to hire casual laborers at the Water Department to assist with hydrant routes. It is the responsibility of the Water Department to install, operate, repair, and maintain the wells, reservoirs, water main, service connections, fire hydrants and the main pumping station within the city. Temporary positions will work 40 hours per week. Standard operating hours of Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Starting wage is $20.00 per hour. Positions to start immediately and work through the winter season. Positions are limited term and do not acquire benefits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct weekly hydrant routes to ensure fire hydrants do not have standing water
- Snow removal from around the fire hydrants
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid motor vehicle operator’s license required
