Description
The City of La Crosse is accepting applications for a full-time Custodian I in the Building & Grounds department. The purpose of this position is to perform routine building and grounds maintenance and custodial tasks. This position will perform janitorial duties such as mopping, vacuuming, dusting, window washing, cleaning of bathrooms and offices and garbage collection. Work may include carpet cleaning, snow removal, and mowing. The work is performed under the direction of the Parks, Forestry, Buildings and Grounds Manager.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent, vocational/technical training in plumbing, carpentry, electrical and mechanical skill, three years building maintenance experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. A valid motor vehicle operator's license required. Starting wage for this non-exempt position is $20.45 to $23.42, 80 hours bi-weekly. The working hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
