This position is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight for the City of Kirkwood's Electric Department, ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective delivery of electric power to residential, commercial, and industrial customers. This position manages the procurement and distribution of wholesale electricity, oversees system maintenance and improvements, and ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The Director manages an annual operating budget of approximately $35 million, directs departmental personnel, and works collaboratively with other City departments to advance organizational goals and provide exceptional service to the community. - Leading daily operations and long-range planning of the City's generation, transmission, and distribution systems. Managing an annual operating budget of approximately $35 million.
- Overseeing 18 employees and fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and professional growth.
- Negotiating wholesale power purchase agreements and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Advising City leadership on rate structures, infrastructure investments, and policy decisions.
