Performs difficult skilled technical work supervising pretreatment, laboratory, oil and grease, cross connection, back-flow, storm water compliance, and land application programs; operations/activities, and related work as required. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Water Reclamation Supervisor. Supervision is exercised over assigned section personnel.Oversees and participating in the planning, directing and supervising Environmental Compliance Program; Laboratories; FOG program; cross connection, back-flow, stormwater, Land Application/Spray Irrigation/Pretreatment programs; preparing and maintaining files and records; preparing reports.

- Plans, supervises and schedules water and wastewater analysis; develops work assignments and assigns personnel duties ensuring regulations are followed.
- Administers Pretreatment Program; inspections, sampling and permitting for industrial and commercial sewers.
- Identifies violations and assessment of harm, reports finding to Superintendent.
- Trains and instructs new employees on systems, department policy, job requirements and expectations.
- Assists in recruitment and selection activities; recommends candidates for hire; recommends salary increases, promotions, disciplinary action and termination as required; conducts performance evaluates on section personnel.
- Assists in the development of specifications for equipment purchases; oversees and/or purchases section supplies.
- Prepares and administers section budget; monitors expenditures.
- Performs related tasks as required.
- Bachelors' degree in environmental science, chemistry, biology, or related field and experience in wastewater management including considerable supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 3 years' experience preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of water and wastewater collection requirements and procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of materials, methods and practices of water and wastewater collection.
- Thorough knowledge of various types of equipment used in the collection of water and wastewater.
- Thorough knowledge of hazards and safety precautions of the work.
- Ability to plan and supervise the work of others.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City officials, associates and the general public.

Salary : $62,400 - $86,736
