Equipment Services Technician
To perform semi-skilled, skilled, and administrative work in maintaining the tractors, small engines, and mechanical equipment of the Mowing & Drainage Division.
The employee will have the responsibility of:
• Operating a variety of diagnostic instruments and a variety of hand, electric, or air driven tools
• Plans, carries out and evaluates preventive maintenance schedules for all small engine equipment
• Operating a diagnostic instrument on diesel and gasoline engines
• Changes and repairs tires and tubes
• Tests, services, and repairs tractors and mechanical equipment
• Repairs breaks. Engine, electrical, fuel, hydraulic, transmission, ignition, air, exhaust, axle assemblies and related systems
• Inspects, adjusts, and replaces necessary units and related parts in the performance
The work environment will require the employee to:
• Regularly work near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration
• Be frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals

Required Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
• Graduation from high school or equivalent; and,
• Two (2) years of related experience; or
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience
Special Requirements:
• Employee must have a valid Texas by date of hire and must obtain a Texas Class A CDL within six months of hire.
• Must have or acquire within two (2) months of date of hire all basic level National Institute Management System (NIMS) certifications as required by the City
