Job Summary
Responsible for performing general cashiering duties, customer service, ancillary product sales and inventory, enforcing applicable pool rules, program registration, accounting, reporting of daily revenue, and other duties or projects as assigned at a municipal swimming pool facility. Assists in maintaining the cleanliness and order of the lobby and staff / public spaces to provide optimal customer service. This position is not a Monday through Friday position and will be required to work weekends and holidays. Under the immediate supervision of the Pool Manager/Assistant Pool Manager. Exercises no supervision over others.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

- Responsible for accurately collecting admission fees from pool patrons while on duty.
- Prepare cash reports and daily deposits.
- Reconcile daily financial records.
- Respond to requests and inquiries from the public.
- Assist with daily maintenance duties.
- Keep assigned area of swimming pool facility clean and orderly.
- Establish and maintain acceptable conduct among swimming pool patrons and guests.
- Responsible for following facility’s Emergency Action Plan.
- Must be courteous with the public at all times.
- Must answer phone calls and have an understanding of general facility programming and operations.
- Operate office machines, including a copier, scanner, phone, voicemail system, computer, and other standard office equipment.
- Troubleshoot problems involving office equipment, such as computer hardware and software.
- Processes program and event registrations, changes, and cancellations.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience, and Abilities:
Education, Certification and Experience Required:
- Completion of 9th grade level in high school or greater.
- Possession of a valid Texas Class C Driver’s License preferred, but not required.
- Experience in public relations preferred.
- Experience with money handling preferred.
- Must be 15 years of age or older.*
- Must be bondable.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Acceptable math skills to accurately count money.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and effectively enforce pool rules.
- Ability to maintain courteous and helpful working relationships with the public of all ages.
- Ability to work effectively under direct supervision.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions from supervisor(s).
- Ability to give verbal and physical instructions to swimming pool patrons and guests.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays.
Machines, Tools, Equipment and Work Aids:
- Safety equipment
- Calculator or cash register
- Computer and related software, telephone, and copier / printer.
Protective Equipment Required:
- Sun protective equipment such as 100% UV sunglasses, billed/brimmed hat or cap; sunscreen
- Gloves when using cleaning solutions in custodial work
- Special Restrictions:
- May not work before 7 a.m. or after 7 p.m. except from June 1 through Labor Day when the evening hour is extended to 9 p.m.
- May not work more than 8 hours a day on a non-school day.
- May not work more than 40 hours a week during non-school weeks.
- May not be required to load or unload trash or operate any power equipment.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
Frequently stands or sits while looking, listening and speaking with patrons and guests while monitoring lobby area of swimming pool facility. Frequently stands, sits, walks, lifts chairs and tables, pushes/pull vacuum, broom, and water hoses, and handles equipment; kneels, bends and climbs. This position is subject to outside environmental conditions, including being in extreme heat while preforming job.
