Specific duties include but are not limited to: • Assist with maintenance and repair of water and sewer mains. This involves locating and diagnosing sewer stoppages water main leaks and service breaks. • Assist with laying out of water and sewer mains. • Install taps and sewer lines and maintain fire hydrants. • Perform preventative maintenance of equipment and systems. This includes lubrication routine inspection and corrosion control. • Read replace test and rebuild water meters as required. • Plow and remove snow. Mow and maintain lawns. Prune vegetation. • Be on-call and available for water and/or sewer work as scheduled. This involves carrying a pager and remaining within 60 minutes of Keene. Note: This position is subject recall and standby duty during non-regular working hours weekends and holidays. In addition once a CDL is obtained this position is subject to federal commercial driver's license (CDL) drug and alcohol requirements. Position should be able to respond within 60 minutes (depending on weather conditions) to staff the work site. Pay and Benefits: During the 6-month probationary period the pay rate for this position is $20.06 per hour. Upon successful completion of the probationary period this position will move to the regular pay schedule which consists of pay steps and hourly rates ranging from $20.91- $24.94 per hour. Note: Among the power tools and equipment generally used by this position are lawn mower; chain saw; jackhammer; pipe saw; cement mixer; sidewalk plow; snowblower; 1-ton truck; large dump trucks; street sweeper; curb machine; asphalt roller; crack sealing equipment; brush chipper; and brush saw. Also used are pay loaders and backhoes.
Note: This position is subject to stand-by duty and call-back during non-regular working hours; weekends; and holidays. In addition; this position is subject to Federally mandated random drug testing. Position should be able to respond within 30 minutes (depending on weather conditions) to the work site.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position involves light to heavy physical labor. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger; handle; or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The noise level is moderate to loud. This position primarily involves work in outdoor weather conditions. There is frequent exposure to wet or humid conditions moving mechanical parts fumes or airborne particles caustic chemicals and vibration. There is occasional exposure to high or precarious places. Outdoor weather conditions vary depending on the season.
