Description

The City of Keene is seeking a dedicated part-time Recycler I to join our hardworking team at our Transfer Station. This role is perfect for someone who’s passionate about sustainability, enjoys working with equipment, and values excellent customer service.
As a Recycler I, you'll be at the heart of our recycling operations—sorting materials, operating essential machinery like balers, skid steers, and loaders, and ensuring our facility runs smoothly and safely. You’ll also interact with residents, help collect City recyclables, turn compost, assist in snow removal, and help maintain a clean, welcoming environment.

Note: This position is subject to recall and stand-by duty during non-regular working hours, weekends, and holidays. This position should be able to respond within 60 minutes, depending on weather conditions, to staff the work site.
Minimum qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education/experience. A valid driver’s license is required. Both a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and Weighmaster License are desired. The Solid Waste Facility Principal Operator Step I Certification is required within one year of employment.
Pay and Benefits:
During the probationary period, the pay rate for this position is $18.64 per hour. Upon successful completion of the probationary period, this position will move to the regular pay schedule which consists of pay steps and hourly rates ranging from $19.39- $23.58 per hour. The City of Keene also offers regular part-time employees the following benefits: earned time, a retirement plan and employee discounts!
This position offers you 21-24 hours per week with a schedule as follows: Thursdays and Fridays 7am-3pm and Saturdays either 8am-1pm or 7am-3pm.
