Job Description

Position available with the Water Department, Consumer Services
Work Location: 4800 E. 63rd St.
Salary Starting at: $19.27 per hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Deadline Date: October 07, 2026

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

• Assists internal and external customers by responding to inquiries via phone and email regarding stormwater billing accounts.
• Researches property ownership and parcel information using county records and other available resources.
• Utilizes Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping tools to review and verify property and impervious surface data.
• Creates, updates, maintains, and adjusts customer accounts as needed to ensure accurate billing.
• Reviews and processes Electronic Work Queue (EWQ) items in a timely manner.
• Manages and investigates returned mail to maintain accurate customer account information.
• Researches and resolves account discrepancies and billing issues.
• Maintains accurate records and documentation related to customer accounts and billing activities.
• Collaborates with team members and other departments to ensure efficient service delivery and accurate account management.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRES

• High school graduation and
• 3 years of public or private sector experience in customer service work at the level of Customer Service Representative or higher;
• OR an equivalent combination of education and responsible customer service experience at the level of Customer Service Representative or higher.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
