City Electrician

The City Electrician performs skilled electrical work involving the

installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of electrical systems

for City-owned buildings, infrastructure, and equipment. This position

ensures electrical systems operate safely, efficiently, and in

compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations. Work may

include facilities, street lighting, traffic signals, water/wastewater

systems, and other municipal operations.

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring,
  
  

fixtures, panels, motors, generators, and control systems in City

facilities and infrastructure.

• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure
  
  

reliability and safety.

• Install and maintain streetlights, traffic signals, and outdoor
  
  

electrical systems as assigned.

• Ensure all work complies with National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA
  
  

standards, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

• Respond to emergency electrical issues, including after-hours and
  
  

on-call situations.

• Follow all City safety policies and procedures.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
