Position Overview
The Seasonal Ground Floor Manager plays a key role in helping the Friends of Hedberg Public Library achieve their annual goals by overseeing operations of The Ground Floor, a combined coffee shop and used bookstore located within the library. This position ensures smooth daily operations, manages volunteers, and oversees financial reporting and fundraising efforts.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of The Ground Floor in compliance with library and Friends policies.
- Oversee financial functions, including receipts, payables, monthly statements, and reports.
- Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers; provide coverage as needed.
- Maintain inventory and order supplies.
- Collaborate with the Friends Board to organize fundraisers such as book sales.
- Prepare monthly reports and share updates at Friends meetings.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and customer service standards.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in retail and/or library settings.
- Access to reliable transportation for job-related duties.
- At least one year of management or supervisory experience.
- Working knowledge of bookkeeping, budgeting, and Microsoft Office 365.

Essential Duties
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Manage the Ground Floor in accordance with the Friends and library policies.
- Manage and operate The Ground Floor to meet county health standards.
- Manage and report on financial functions of The Ground Floor. This includes receipts, payables, monthly financial statements, monthly state sales tax reports, and annual budgets and audits.
- Recruit, train and schedule volunteers for The Ground Floor as needed and be available to reschedule volunteers or fill in as needed.
- Purchase supplies for The Ground Floor.
- Prepare Ground Floor monthly financial report and report information at monthly meetings.
- Administer Friends membership enrollments and records.
- Work with Friends board members to organize and conduct fundraisers such as book sales.
- Follows all safety regulations, policies, and procedures; reports all unsafe conditions and acts to supervisor; reports all accidents to the supervisor immediately whenever possible; follows recognized safe work practices.
- Performs other special projects and other job duties as assigned or required during regular and non-business hours.
- All employees may be assigned by the City manager or their designee to perform duties and assume responsibilities that are outside the scope of their work duties when the City Manager has declared a City disaster or the City Emergency Operations Center has been initiated.
Minimum Position Requirements/Qualifications

- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous retail and/or library experience is required.
- Access to personal or public transportation for job-related duties.

- At least one year with management and supervisory experience is preferred.

A 20-hour work schedule is required for this seasonal position. Attendance at night meetings and special events may be required.
