Gym Attendant - Youth Basketball (Grades 1-2)

The City of Inver Grove Heights is hiring a seasonal Gym Attendant for the Youth Basketball League (Grades 1–2). This role supports the smooth operation of practices and games by ensuring proper facility set up, welcoming families, supporting coaches, and serving as the on-site point of contact. This position helps maintain a safe, organized, and positive environment for participants and spectators. 

• Ensure the gym is properly set up for practices and games, including adjusting basketball hoops, setting divider curtains, arranging spectator seating, and setting out scoreboards on game nights. 
• Greet participants, coaches, and spectators as they arrive, providing a welcoming and friendly environment.
• Help players find their assigned courts or teams and direct parents and spectators to the appropriate areas.
• Provide general information about schedules, locations, and league policies as needed.
• Monitor the gym to ensure that it remains clean, safe, and well-maintained during all activities.
• Ensure that all safety protocols and rules are being followed, including emergency procedures.
• Respond to any incidents, accidents, or injuries by providing first aid or notifying appropriate personnel. 
• Report any incidents, issues, or feedback to the League Coordinator.  
• Perform other duties as assigned. 

• 16 years of age or older. 
• Ability to work independently 
• Ability to work effectively and communicate with volunteer coaches, players, parents, and school staff

Schedule and Location

• Dates:Mondays, February 2- April 27 (no league on 2/16, 3/30, 4/6)  
• Shift time: 6:00-8:30 PM 
• Practices/Games: 6:15-7:15 PM and 7:20-8:20 PM 
• Location:Pine Bend Elementary School Gymnasium. 9875 Inver Grove Trail, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55076
