Job Summary
The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, led by Prosecutor Ryan Mears, is setting new expectations in the criminal justice system and is committed to a fair and equitable system. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office seeks a self-motivated Major Felony Paralegal to assist Major Felony Deputy Prosecutors who handle sex crimes, child abuse, and/or domestic violence cases. This individual will be responsible for assisting with discovery. In addition, the individual will also assist Deputy Prosecutors with further case preparation.

Position Responsibilities
- Communicate with Detectives regarding cases.
- Review body worn camera footage.
- Request evidence from agencies.
- File documents with the Court.
- Redact discovery, as needed.
- Send discovery to Defense Counsel.
- Obtain certified documents from outside agencies.
- Update information in our case management system.
- Create the electronic case file for the assigned Deputy Prosecutor.
- Print criminal histories.
- Check and print prior police reports.
- Assist Deputy Prosecutors with other requests, as needed. All other duties as requested.
- Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- They must also have experience using printers, copiers, scanners, and fax machines.
