Minimum Job Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning or related field with two (2) years of relevant experience in planning, land use, or community development.
Preferred Job Requirements And Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Urban Planning or related field. Membership in the American Planning Association or other related professional organization.

Position Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Prepares plans, projects, and programs
- Formulates and performs geographically based analyses and computer-based planning studies
- Creates and maintains planning information and databases
- Provides data and planning information to public and private agencies/organizations and individual citizens
- Conduct special projects in support of local initiatives and programs
- Develops data, maps, analyses, and special studies in support of significant local plans, projects, and programs
- Facilitates citizen participation and input in planning processes
- Deals with citizens, elected officials, businesspeople, and staff of other public agencies in developing public policy
- Must maintain confidentiality at all times
