The City of Independence will accept applications at KansasWorks, 2615 W

Main St, Suite 111, Independence, KS 67301, for seasonal maintenance

work at Riverside Park and Ralph Mitchell Zoo, Central Park Sports

Complex, and the Downtown Historic Business District.

• JOB DUTIES:**This ad serves to hire temporary workers (June through
  
  

October) that will work under the supervision and direction of the

full-time park staff. Applicants will be responsible for watering newly

planted trees and hanging baskets in the historic business district,

trees at the Central Park Sports Complex, and all urns and flowers

withinRiverside Park and Ralph Mitchell Zoo.

• QUALIFICATIONS:**\
  
  

Ability to perform manual labor related to grounds and landscape

maintenance.\

Ability to work in extreme temperatures and consistently lift over fifty

pounds.\

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.\

Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.\

Must possess a valid Kansas drivers license.

• EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:**Must be at least 18 years of age
