Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision, the Line Service Technician performs skilled and semi-skilled duties in
support of airport operations and Fixed Base Operator (FBO) services. The position is responsible for
fueling aircraft, providing ground support services, maintaining airport equipment and facilities, and
ensuring safe and efficient aircraft movement on the ramp.
This position serves as a primary customer service representative to pilots, passengers, tenants, and
aviation partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Aircraft Ground Services
Fuels and defuels general aviation and corporate aircraft in accordance with safety standards
and fuel quality control procedures.
Marshals, parks, and secures aircraft on ramps and in hangars.
Tows and repositions aircraft using approved ground support equipment.
Assists with aircraft starting (GPU), lavatory service, potable water service, and other support
functions.
Fuel Operations
Conducts daily fuel quality control checks and maintains required documentation.
Operates fuel trucks and fueling systems safely and efficiently.
Monitors fuel inventory levels and reports discrepancies.
Ensures compliance with FAA and fire safety regulations.
Customer Service
Greets pilots and passengers in a professional and courteous manner.
Assists with hangar assignments and transient aircraft needs.

Coordinates with FBO staff regarding reservations, crew cars, and special services.
Responds to customer inquiries and resolves service issues promptly.
Facility & Equipment Maintenance
Performs minor maintenance on fuel trucks, tugs, and ground support equipment.
Maintains ramp cleanliness and removes Foreign Object Debris (FOD).
Assists with mowing, basic airfield maintenance, and seasonal duties as assigned.
Safety & Compliance
Follows all airport safety procedures and OSHA standards.
Participates in emergency response activities as required.
Reports unsafe conditions immediately.
Complies with TSA and airport security requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
Basic aviation terminology
Fuel handling safety procedures
General customer service practices
Ground support equipment operation
Ability to:
Operate fuel trucks and aircraft towing equipment safely
Work outdoors in all weather conditions
Lift 50 pounds repeatedly
Provide excellent customer service under time-sensitive conditions
Follow detailed safety procedures

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
High school diploma or GED.
Valid Texas Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
Ability to obtain required airport security clearance.
Preferred:

Previous aviation or FBO experience.
Fuel handling or hazardous materials training.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Valid Texas Driver’s License.
Fire extinguisher and fuel safety certification (within specified timeframe).

WORKING CONDITIONS
Outdoor environment exposed to aircraft noise, fuel fumes, and varying weather conditions.
Physically demanding work includes bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
Shift work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
On-call rotation may be required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently.
Stand and walk for extended periods.
Climb ladders and enter confined spaces when necessary.
Maintain situational awareness in active aircraft movement areas.
