The Department of Supportive Care Medicine at City of Hope National Medical Center is seeking a trained psychiatrist to meet the needs of our growing program on our main medical campus in Southern, CA.
Our interdisciplinary team - composed of specialist physicians, nurses, social workers, nutritionists, chaplains, and others - works with patients to meaningfully improve their medical, psychosocial, and behavioral health needs during and after cancer treatment. Position Highlights:
Provide patient-centered care in collaboration with our team of world class, nationally recognized team of medical, psychiatric, surgical, and radiation cancer specialists as we seek to hire a full-time clinical psychiatrist reporting to the Division Chief of Psychiatry.
- Designated inpatient consultation and outpatient scheduling
- Position will be a combination of inpatient consultation service and outpatient clinic service
- Generous 60 minute for new patient appointments and 30-45 minute follow up appointment blocks
- Flexible schedule: 8am-5pm
- 90% of patient panel are cancer patients. Experience with oncology patients preferred but not required
- Physician will practice at the main flagship medical campus
- Division currently includes 3 FTE psychiatrists
- Exciting growth and opportunity for tele-psychiatry services
- Clinical social work team on staff
- Multi-disciplinary collaboration
- Opportunities for teaching and other academic activities
- No ER coverage and no psychiatric holds
- Excellent benefits package, including a generous retirement contribution plan

- Salary Range - $300k - $335k The range listed is exclusively for base compensation for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual compensation will be adjusted for experience, training, hospital/community need and other factors.

Qualifications:
- Academic record consistent with appointment Assistant, Associate or Professor level at an ACGME accredited program.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in psychiatry required
- Additional training in geriatric, consultation-liaison psychiatry, and psycho oncology knowledge preferred
- Experience with cancer patients, preferred but not required
- Applicants must have an M.D., D.O. or equivalent degree from an accredited educational institution and boarded (or board eligible) in psychiatry
- Possession of, or eligibility for, unrestricted medical license in the State of California
Salary : $300,000 - $335,000
