The Dr. M. James You laboratory in the Department of Pathology at City of Hope is looking for a talented Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct basic and translational research on hematologic malignancies, including leukemias, lymphomas, and myeloid neoplasms. The fellow will lead and support projects focused on the genetic, epigenetic, and molecular mechanisms driving disease initiation and progression, using a combination of mouse models, patient-derived samples, and high-throughput technologies, including next-generation sequencing, flow cytometry, and immunohistochemistry. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the interface of research and clinical pathology, contribute to high-impact publications, and gain mentorship in translational cancer biology and academic career development.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Lead independent and collaborative projects investigating the molecular and cellular basis of hematologic malignancies.
  • Work with mouse models, human tumor samples, and high-throughput technologies (e.g., next-generation sequencing, flow cytometry, and immunohistochemistry).
  • Analyze genomic, transcriptomic, and phenotypic data to identify mechanisms of cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, pathologists, and clinicians.
  • Contribute to the preparation of high-impact publications, grant proposals, and scientific presentations.
  • Receive mentorship in experimental design, translational research, and career development.

Your qualifications should include:

  • A PhD, MD or MD/PhD in molecular biology, cancer genetics, cancer biology, pathology, immunology, or a related biomedical field.
  • Familiarity with flow cytometry, RNA/DNA analysis, immunohistochemistry, or genomic technologies.
  • Demonstrated productivity through peer-reviewed publications.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Strong research background in genetic engineered mouse modeling, molecular and cellular biology; experience with hematologic malignancies or cancer genomics is preferred.
