What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Intern - Automotive Mechanic position at City of Hoover?
Currently enrolled in High School and participating in an automotive training program. Students must be in good standing with the High School.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to conduct vehicle inspections and conduct basic preventative maintenance
- Ability to check fluids and top off fluids
- Ability to assist technicians with basic electrical diagnostics and battery testing/maintenance
- Ability to assist with brake inspections and basic tire services
- Must be able to prioritize and organize work and have the ability to multi-task
- Ability to collaborate with Department Heads, employees and other groups on work related assignments
- Ability to work with others as a team member
- Must be able to assist with shop organization and clean up
- Must be able to work with the public and provide information in a polite and efficient manner
