While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and use hands and arms to push a wheeled cart in a level indoor setting. The employee will make frequent entry and exit from a motor vehicle while delivering meals. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, talk or hear.
The employee must daily lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

- Delivers meals to homebound clients daily in a safe and efficient manner, following all local traffic laws, ordinances, and prescribed uses of City vehicles at all times when driving City vehicles for any task.
- Actively seeks out and participates in community events to distribute information about our services.
- Gathers and maintains resources for the other social service agencies that provides assistance to senior citizens.
- Assist in performing client assessments and reassessments on home delivered, congregate, and recreation members.
- Assist in data entry of those assessments / reassessments into the state data base, as mandated by the New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department.
- Assist with Transportation of members as needed.
- Makes periodic “rounds” through the senior center, to know who is in the senior center and which activities are occurring.
- Establishes and maintains contact with families of program participants where applicable.
- Answers the phones and receives walk in citizens providing information requested or directs them to the appropriate organization or person.
- Welcomes first time clients, gives tours of the Hobbs Senior Center, and acquaints new clients with both current senior center clients, and activities at the Senior Center.
- Becomes familiar with clients visiting the senior center, inquires both about which activities they enjoy and new activities the senior center could offer.
- Prepares monthly reports for the supervisor on services provided as required.
- Assists in sending out approximately 1,500 newsletters bi-monthly to current clients.
- Provides follow up contact with clients that have not entered the center for a period of time to ascertain whether they wish to continue membership with the senior center.
- Provides assistance to congregate meal participants by serving/bringing meals to those that are unable to carry their food trays due to physical restrictions.
- Acts as a backup to the Luncheon Registrar and Kitchen Aide.
- Provides assistance to clients by putting them in contact with services such as medical facilities and non-profit assistance programs.
- Makes efficient use of time, daily; assists and participates in planning, programming, supervising, and evaluation of new senior center activities.

LICENSING AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Ability to obtain WellSky database certification within sixty (60) days of hire
- Ability to obtain Safe Food Handler’s certification within sixty (60) days of hire
- Ability to obtain NM HIPPA/Confidentiality Certification within sixty (60) days of hire
- Valid state issued driver’s license.
