Provides supervision and safely interacts with children within the secure COREKids area located within the Center of Recreational Excellence (CORE). 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Responsible for maintaining supervision of all children between the ages of six (6) months to twelve (12) years at all times.  
  • Provides a fun, entertaining, and safe environment. 
  • Greeting, acknowledging and interacting with guests and children in a friendly manner.  
  • Follows appropriate check-in and check-out procedures for COREKids. 
  • Monitors and interacts with children to maintain a safe and healthy environment with respect to other children, equipment, and surroundings.  
  • Keeps COREKids area sanitized and equipment organized.
  • Adheres to assigned work schedule. 
  • Implements the CORE mission and philosophy. 
  • Follows all Standard Operating Procedures within COREKids. 
  • Immediately reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors or abuse.

  • Demonstrates self-initiative in performing routine tasks as in accordance with standard operating procedures and standard operating guidelines.
Education and Experience:
  • Childcare experience required, including babysitting, nannying, daycare, or similar roles required.
  • Graduation from high school or high school equivalency (HSE) preferred. 
  • Customer service experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Applicant must be dependable.  
  • Applicant must be available to work flexible hours
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere.  
  • Ability to utilize computer skills
  • Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships
  • Must have exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in verbal and written communication.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.        
  • Must be able to deal with people under stressful and demanding situations.
  • Bilingual Preferred.

LICENSING AND CERTIFICATIONS
  •   Ability to obtain Infant/Youth/Adult First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
  •   Ability to obtain Infant/Child and Adult CPR/AED certification within 30 days of hire.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Work under the general supervision of the COREKids Leads, CORE Guest Services Coordinator, CORE Facility Director, and Recreation Director.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  
The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate controls and reach with upper and lower body and hands and arms.  The employee is frequently required to balance, stoop, kneel and crouch.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee may be required to stand up to a four (4) hour period of time.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office and moderately loud when in other parts of the facility.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions.  The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals.
