- Operate mower, tractor, weed eater, chainsaw and leaf blower.
- Seed, plant, and fertilize grass; add lime as needed.
- Mow grass, weed eat, trim and pick up debris.
- Perform minor equipment maintenance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge of lawn and landscape care and maintenance. - Knowledge of city and department policies and procedures.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
- Skill in the operation of tractors, bush hogs, lawn mowers, weed-eaters, leaf blowers, and other tools.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
SAFETY SENSITIVE: This position has been identified as safety-sensitive. The employee in this position will be part of a random drug testing pool. The methodology for choosing the random test subjects is handled by an outside, impartial, third party vendor.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is typically performed outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather. The employee may be exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, machinery with moving parts, contagious or infectious diseases, and irritating chemicals. The work may require the use of protective devices.
