What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Operator I position at City of Hibbing?
The City of Hibbing is seeking a full-time Equipment Operator I to safely and efficiently operate a wide variety of heavy and light equipment in and around the City of Hibbing. This position involves operating graders, tractor mowers, loaders, rubber-tired loader backhoes, trucks, Sno-Go, Bobcat, water trucks, shouldering machines, crawler dozers, rollers, stumpers, aerial lift trucks, sweepers, Vac-All units, tractor low-boy trailer combinations, culvert steamers, and screen plants. The Equipment Operator I will also perform concrete and blacktop work, semi-skilled equipment repair, and general labor duties. This position may be assigned to various city departments as operational needs require and is an essential role in maintaining city infrastructure and services.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent, MN Class "B" Commercial Driver's License, Tanker Endorsement. Demonstrated ability to safely operate heavy and light equipment used in public works operations. Three years' experience operating light and heavy equipment. Safety sensitive position subject to random drug, alcohol, and cannabis testing.
