What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Maintenance Aide - Inventory Control (Limited Term) position at City of Henderson?
The City of Henderson currently has two (2) vacancies for the classification of Utility Maintenance Aide - Inventory Control. One vacancy is a regular, permanent full-time position, and one vacancy is a regular, limited-term full-time position.
At the completion of the new Citywide initiative in June of 2028, the employee in the Utility Maintenance Aide - Inventory Control position with the least amount of City seniority will be removed from the staff complement.
Limited-Term Position Information:
Due to the implementation of a new Citywide initiative, the City of Henderson added a limited term Utilities Maintenance Aide - Inventory Control position to assist with job duties and tasks related to the project.
Candidates selected to fill this position will be classified as full-time employees as defined in the Teamsters contract. However, this limited-term position is only approved through June 2028 at which time one (1) Utility Maintenance Aide-Inventory Control position will be removed from the staff complement. The individual holding this position at the end of the approved period with the least amount of seniority will have rights as outlined in the “reduction in force” language in the Teamsters contract.
- Pursuant to the Teamsters collective bargaining agreement, full-time non-probationary employees successfully completing the assessment process will be placed on an eligibility list to be used to fill vacancies in this classification for up to six (6) months.
- Probationary full-time, part-time, temporary employees, and external candidates who successfully complete the testing process will be placed on separate list(s), which may be used to fill vacancies for up to one (1) year. If the vacancy is not filled by full-time non-probationary employees, the separate list(s) may be utilized.
- Graduation from high school or the equivalent
- One (1) year of full-time work experience where the primary function was maintaining inventory of supplies, equipment, and/or parts, must include working with computerized records
- Note: An equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered
- Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or “border state” driver’s license, as defined by NRS 483
- Must obtain and maintain the appropriate OSHA card as defined by the Nevada Revised Statue (NRS 618.950)
- Must obtain and maintain a City Forklift Certification within thirty (30) days of hire
- Employee will be expected to complete assigned training courses through the City of Henderson's learning management system
- All required licenses and certificates, as mandated by local, state, and federal laws, or as required herein, must be obtained and maintained as a condition of continued employment and at the incumbents’ expense
- Desirable: Experience working with the purchase order receiving and work order modules of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
