Airport Manager – City of Heber Springs
The City of Heber Springs is seeking a full‑time Airport Manager (contracted labor) to oversee daily operations, safety, maintenance, and long‑term development of the Heber Springs Municipal Airport. This role ensures compliance with FAA regulations, manages airport facilities and grounds, coordinates capital projects, and serves as the primary liaison to the Mayor, City Council, aviation agencies, tenants, and the public.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily airport operations, inspections, safety, and security.
- Oversee maintenance of runways, lighting, terminal facilities, hangars, and grounds.
- Administer airport leases, budgets, grants, and capital improvement projects.
- Manage fuel system operations and ensure quality control.
- Provide customer service, promote airport use, and support aviation business growth.
- Coordinate with FAA, Arkansas Department of Aeronautics, and local agencies.
- Develop emergency response plans and respond to after‑hours issues.
- Present monthly reports and attend City Council meetings.
Qualifications
- General aviation experience or training preferred.
- Experience in airport operations, aviation management, or municipal government strongly preferred.
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
